- Swim instructors work with a wide range of students to teach the student how to swim. I worked with children from four years old to fourteen, totally 300 hours of instruction across my time teaching. Swimming lessons may include goals of swimming further, learning new strokes, swimming with proper stroke technique, water safety, or processing a fear of the water.
