Prepare and make assignments for the ORA’s, making sure that every OR that needs an assistant for the day is covered. - Running specimens, cultures, blood products, and blood gases for the OR room. Responding to emergency situations as needed. Retrieve equipment and supplies and assist room staff with opening of sterile supplies and instrument sets. Cleaning rooms after cases, replace and set up circuit for anesthesia, position patients if needed, placement of tourniquet.
