Provides leadership and supervision for efficient and smooth operation of the shelter and shelter staff. Oversees animal husbandry, enrichment, admissions, adoptions, medical staff, foster coordinator, volunteer coordinator, shelter services coordinator and humane agent. Ensures quality animal care and shelter cleanliness, as well as excellent internal and external customer service. Ensures the safety, sanitation, and upkeep of the shelter for staff and guests. Provides staff and volunteer training, prepares operational reports, and educates the public about responsible pet ownership and animal regulation and laws. Oversees the TNR, Low Cost Surgical Clinic and Wellness Clinic to ensure efficient and smooth operation. May perform duties of an Animal Care Associate, Veterinary Assistant, Foster/Volunteer Coordinator, Adoption Counselor, Intake coordinator, Humane Agent and any other duties regarding the operations of the shelter.

Assist and support practice owners and doctors. Maintain and receive inventory. Maintain relationships with outside sales. Hire and train new employees. Ensure compliance of all personnel with hospital policies. Mediate client related issues. Participate in marketing and social media ideas for hospital. Create and maintain medical records. Assist veterinarian with procedures.

Assist veterinarians with procedures. Perform laboratory services including microscope work and blood draws. Assist with radiographs. Prepare and distribute medications.

Administer first aid and rehabilitation to wildlife. Maintain permanent animal collection. Educate public on wildlife conservation issues. Supervise wildlife center volunteers.

Coordinate and administer the Wildlife Rehabilitation Program. Coordinate rehabilitation interns and naturalist assistant volunteer program. Answer animal-related phone calls from the public. Assist in creating and maintaining animal displays. Develop and edit wildlife newsletter.
