Being a manager at Strickland’s Ice Cream Shop has been one of the most rewarding and dynamic experiences of my career. From the first day, I stepped into the shop, I knew it would be a place where I could grow, learn, and make a real impact. Strickland’s, with its signature old-school charm and a loyal customer base, quickly became more than just a job—it became a part of who I am. It took me two years to become a manager at the store with lots of hard work.
As a manager, my role was much more than overseeing the daily operations. I was responsible for ensuring that every customer walked away with a smile, that our team worked cohesively, and that everything ran smoothly behind the scenes. Managing the shop meant juggling a variety of tasks, from handling inventory to training new staff, all while keeping the atmosphere friendly and inviting.
One of the most fulfilling parts of being a manager at Strickland’s was the customer interactions. It’s impossible not to love seeing the excitement on a child’s face when they try their first scoop of homemade ice cream, or the joy in someone’s eyes when they bite into a waffle cone filled with their favorite flavor. I am very fortunate to witness this everytime I work.
