  • Intake clients, whether it be by law enforcement, hospital referral, or clients that have brought themselves in.
  • I greet the client and find out what brought them in, and what type of help they are looking for. Then I would get them to a nurse. I do all their intake paperwork, make up their bed, and inventory all belongings. Serve meals, clean up, help the client apply for Medicaid, and help make calls to try to find long-term treatment.
  • I update shift notes throughout the shift and talk with clients who may be struggling and need someone to talk to. Be a good listener, and present coping skills to help them get through.
  • Discharge clients who are moving on to the next step in their recovery. When the client leaves, I make weekly check-in calls to make sure the client is okay and doesn't need anything.
