I have been a CTE Teacher for the last 14 years. I have taught at private schools, public schools and correctional facilities. My goal is to work as a CTE Director and normalize trade schools. I want to ensure that students are equipped with the knowledge and skills to succeed in their careers and post-secondary education. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services and my Master’s in Education. I am licensed to teach Cosmetology, Barbering, Trade and Industry, and Family Consumer Science. I just moved from Denver to Texas and currently teach Family Consumer Science classes. Teaching is my passion and helping others is my mission. 1. Teaches content and skills in Family & Consumer Science courses, utilizing curriculum designated by LDISD.
2. Instructs students in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and administrative regulations and procedures of LDISD.
3. Adapts Family & Consumer Science material and methods to develop relevant sequential assignments and lesson plans that guide and challenge students.
4. Develops lesson plans and supplementary materials compatible with the division’s basic instructional philosophy and congruent with course standards; provides individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student and subgroups of students.
5. Evaluates academic and social growth of students, prepares report cards, keeps appropriate records to include attendance reports, checklists, census forms, and other recordkeeping activities as necessary.
6. Encourages students to think independently and to express original ideas.
7. Evaluates each student’s progress in meeting the course standards for Family & Consumer Science skills. 8. Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly, productive classroom environment.

8. Keeps up to date with developments in the subject area, teaching resources, and methods and make relevant changes to instructional plans.
9. Monitors outcomes for racial, ethnic, and gender disparities and takes action to address identified disparities.
1. Complying with all federal, state, accreditation and institutional policies and procedures.
2. Teaching theory, didactic and services / hands-on/lab components of an assigned course(s) or program according to TTIOC standardized curriculum and the course and program objectives.
3. Teaching course in accordance with the campus class schedule, including beginning and end of class, and all class breaks.
4. Maintaining accurate and timely records of students’ attendance and students’ academic grades and progress.
5. Enforcing all classroom management policies and processes, including attendance taking and program-related dress code.
6. Conducting one-on-one student advisements, course-specific student academic remediation and student coaching/tutoring.
7. Communicating with the Director of Education and Campus Director regarding students at risk for Attendance, Grades, Services and Hours. Including Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP).
8. Developing and implementing student-centered and student engaging classroom activities and have students perform services to clients as needed by APS. Use creative methods of teaching and learning for student engagement.
9. Participating in faculty meetings and in-service trainings.
10. Following applicable requirements for Continuing Education Units.
11. Maintaining professional, technical, and instructional competencies through in service trainings provided by APS and independent professional development activities.
12. Meeting or exceeding student retention objectives as set by the APS, Director of Education and Campus Director.
13. Perform client services if necessary or as directed, resulted from student attendance.
14. Demonstrate, coach and mentor the educational service skills and techniques to students.
1. Supervise instructional functions and student activities at Ridge View Academy.
2. Teach approved curriculum and all coursework as outlined by the State of Colorado of Barbers
3. Ensure instructional resources are being utilized efficiently and effectively.
4. Teach the curriculum with a focus on preparing students to pass the NC Barber examination and enter the workforce.
5. Provide instruction through non-traditional methods that employ a variety of techniques and simulations.
6. Assist students with developing skills in basic academics, study habits, problem-solving, decision-making, life management and critical thinking.
7. Responsible for the renewal of the instructor's certificate on an annual basis.
8. Responsible for assisting with the overall operation of the Barbering School.
9. Develop student learning outcomes to enhance student learning.
10. Participate in program-level assessment and planning.
