My experience working for Madera county department of social services included volunteering for Social Services Teen Enrichment Program.
This program is catered to teenagers within the ages of 16-18 years of age who are receiving cash assistance. This program assists teenagers with resources and tools to become self sufficient adults. As a volunteer I am actively engaged in interacting with teens and parents, assist monthly meetings to prepare for each session, and provide community feedback. I also volunteer for other community events such as the Oakhurst Community Wellness Event. An event focused on providing outreach for the community, informing them of resource availability for health coverage and other supportive services including Calfresh, Community action partnership, First Five Madera, behavioral health etc.
