Woodward,OK

Summary

Six years ago my husband and I received guardianship of our nephew. In the beginning of this process I went through the DHS system to get kinship of my nephew. This was due to the amount of violence and drug abuse he witnessed. My nephew was a year and a half at that time. I had full guardianship over him for four years until his mom was able to get her life together. We still work closely together for her sons sake.

My Husbands company moved us to West Texas three years ago. This is where I worked outside a lot so that my nephew could always be with me. In the middle of that time my nephews mom was able to regain custody of her son. My husband and I moved back to Woodward due to his health and having to go onto Disability.

I enjoyed working at the shelter. I can not work a solid over night schedule and would rather work closer with children and there families.

My background includes working with children exposed to violence and substance abuse or dealing with individual mental or physical limitations. Expertise includes developing plans, curriculum and activities to build skills and enhance development.
