Work History

Mental Health Client Specialist

Community Connection of Santa Cruz
Santa Cruz, CA
09.2001 - 09.2021
  • Provided support, parent education and community resource referrals to parents of diverse backgrounds whose children were diagnosed with mental health and/or behavioral challenges. I also worked side by side with community agencies providing additional services to these families.
  • As the supervisor for the Family Partnership Program, I supervised 1-4 staff while also carrying a caseload of approximately 7-10 families whose children were receiving services from Children's Behavioral Health in Santa Cruz. The Family Partnership Program is contracted with Children's Behavioral Health and works in collaboration with county therapists as well as Child Protective Services and Santa Cruz Probation.
  • As a Family Partner I met weekly with parents to provide parenting skills, and assist them with better understanding their child's mental health and or behavioral challenges. In addition, I assisted parents with developing a self care plan that helped support their overall well being as well as a Service Plan that focused on goals and objectives around their child's mental health diagnosis.
  • In order to track and meet program goals and requirements I submitted brief quarterly reports tracking number of clients receiving services, breakdown of client address and ethnicity as well as tracking success or challenges with meeting program goals.
  • I also attended weekly and monthly clinical team meetings to discuss strategies and concerns around the child/teens mental health and behavioral challenges.
