Dynamic minister with a proven track record at First Christian Church, fostering inclusive environments and enhancing community outreach. Skilled in effective communication and relationship building, I initiated interfaith dialogue events and developed volunteer training programs, significantly increasing engagement and participation within diverse congregations. Committed to compassionate counseling and spiritual guidance.
I got in touch with Churches in the Mid-West who had no pastor and were open to pulpit supply. Most of these settings were PCUSA but some were DoC, and interdenominational. I enjoyed the diversity and if they ask me to come back I will if I am open. We traveled in our horse and buggy(camper) and enjoyed the solitude especially when traveling. It was an enjoyable time but we do not have our camper at this time.
I had two office, and juggled my days in serving in these daily, one in the a.m. and one in the p.m. This was a situation of Churches without settled pastors, and they pretty much were able to use pulpit supply and elders. The one was terrific and the other was hard to work with, since they were used to doing things on their own. I left after a trying board meeting, with the Billingsville group. This entailed my not being able to take days off(which I verily ever did), but also, I traveled to several communities for pastoral care in nursing homes and homes of shut-ins(which was not done by the interim or the pulpit supply ministers), and they expected me to tell them each time and each place I had been and that if I had a day off, I had to tell them where I was and what I was doing. I tried to talk to them, that we all need time off to refresh, and they would not have anything to do with that. It was something that I thought I'd never have to do. I always reported my schedule of visits on the board meeting print outs. I resigned later that day.
I filled in after their minister left for another church in MO. I participated in as much as they asked me to in activities. I enjoyed the diversity of the denominations. This was done following our service at the FCC of Lakin, KS just a block away.
I have experience with being a commissioned minister with the KS and the NE Disciples of Christ.
I have experience as you see with UCC Minister.
I also have experience with the American Baptist Church of KS and NE, where I did interim.
I have been commissioned with Disciples of Christ in KS and NE. I have had Stole Camp Training in Tulsa and completed it in 2013.
I have taken financial management of the church setting when it comes to how offerings and tithes are handled with integrity.
I have taken Boundaries Class and History and Polity with Disciples, ABCUSA, and UCC. I have taken several classes for pastors, been a part of all the cluster groups in my areas over the years.
I am currently ordained but not in the above denominations. I am with Fire Eagle Ministries as an independent minister out of Camden, AR, with Rev. Harold Parker as director. This will be removed once I am commissioned. I was set to have my Commissioning meeting at the end of February, but will work with current Regional Ministers on that step.
My husband and I have done foster care over the years to give homes to over 30 children, including newborns and teens. We had to take quite a few of classes to be licensed in the states of MO, KS, and in NE. In the latest licensing we stepped away after taking weekly and more of the christian coursework to be licensed. These courses have helped along the way in dealing with situations that parish folks will ask for guidance. They have come in very handy especially with teens.
Greetings in the Name of Jesus!
I want to say how very happy you are looking at my resume(nick:REZ). I do not have a lot of college or theology training but as I was told by a recent group of ministers, "Your experience is an education itself and never stop applying yourself to learn". I've always said that life is the best education we can get. I have been through much and I will continue to live a life of learning.
I have been married to my wonderful husband and counterpart, Roger, Sr. for almost 56 years. We have 8 beautiful and talented children, all grown and on their own. We have 28 grandkids and 12 great grandbabies. We live in Southeast Nebraska. We have lived in several areas of the country, but mostly in the Midwest region. My husbands work took us all over, and mine work has just begun. When I say that, I mean, I didn't really have a relationship with Jesus until I was almost 40. We attended the UMC settings wherever we lived, but it didn't teach us that we need a relationship with the true and living God himself. So glad we did. We were both saved in 1991.
I received my call to ministry by God in the middle of the night in 1993. God speaks! I pursued my calling through of teachings and connections with the so many Christians, visiting ministers, evangelists and more. But the best teacher is God, through the Word of God and more.
Today, no matter when it is, "Is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad..."
My favorite Scriptures is James 1:2, "Count it all joy....". But the one that really sets it all up, is found in Romans 8:28, making it clear in how God is always there for us, working on us, through us, and for us, "And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose." It can't get any better than that!
