Maintenace Tech Electrical
- Successful Power Plant Electrician for over 20 years.
- Three and a half years as a shared hydro dam electrician at Kilbourn and Prairie du Sac.
- Worked on all plant and coal yard control systems by troubleshooting, adjusting, and building all new logic in DCS systems. Remove old relay logic.
- Installed new DCS control cabinets, wired, and tested for upgrades. Including wire sizing.
- Made new prints for each system installed.
- Troubleshoot, size, program, install VFDs, or soft starts.
- Installed new PLCs for the ash system and soot systems. Then tested, troubleshot, adjusted, and built logic for these systems.
- Size and install wires, cables, and conduits for new or replacement equipment.
- Size equipment protection (fuses) for equipment.
- Take trouble calls at all hours of the day, night, or weekends.
- I worked on most every piece of equipment or system in the plant as assigned.
- Welded projects for myself and my friends.
- Maintained 120 and 240-volt batteries and systems.
- Removed and rebuilt different types of electric motors, including AC and DC, both horizontal and vertical.
- Cleaned and inspected transformers, switchgear, and bus work.
- I worked with the North Area crew several times on switchyard outages and the replacement of two new GSUs.
- Worked with the Relay Department, replacing old relays, and installing and testing new ones during several outages.
- I substituted as a crew foreman, assigned duties to the crew, and took care of the related paperwork for many years while my supervisor was away on leave or vacations.
- I was assigned to be the lead on several projects.
- I worked closely with managers and engineers on many projects.
- Installed LOTOs and grounded equipment as needed.
