Professionalbackground

I am a registered nurse with international work experience. I have worked in multi-clinical settings both in Colombia and in the United States. I graduated with a four-year Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the Metropolitan University in Barranquilla, Colombia, in 1994. Thereafter, I developed my professional career in the area of clinical care, during the time I lived in that city. I served as Nurse and Substitute Head Nurse in the VIP Med Surg wing of the Baptist Hospital in Barranquilla for a period of 8 years. During that time, I was one of the nursing educators at the Inca Educational Center teaching courses in Public Health nursing. Thereafter I decided to continue my career in the United States of America. After two year's preparation I was admitted as a Registered Nurse by the Nursing Board of the California Nurses Association. I then served as a Registered Nurse in various capacities from 2008 to 2018. In 2015 I presented to the Florida Board of Nursing my application for endorsement of my California license, which was granted. Currently have Florida license active only. In July 2018, I placed a hiatus on my nursing career to accompany my husband to Colombia who traveled there on a special work-related project. We are now returning to the United States. We are residing in the Sunrise area. I am a breast cancer survivor, in full remission. I see my experience not as a disability but as an extra ability. My first hand experience with chemotherapy and related treatments as a patient has given me additional sensitivity and a dimension of clinical care which I bring to any type of patient under my care.
