I was responsible for removing shafts, rudders, and wheels for barge boats, tug boats, and river boats. Worked with other outside machinist to do necessary repairs to the boats and dry docks. Some welding when required.

Managed the mill and lathe department on the 3rd shift. Help mill operators do setups, troubleshoot, and editing programs. Did tool changes in CNC mills. Did routine quality control though out the shift in the mill and lath departments. Did some editing to programs and made offsets to mills when required to make sure part are to specifications of prints.

Help technician do yearly and 6 month inspection on survival crafts for drilling platform in the Gulf of Mexico.

Checked all harnesses and safety equipment on survival crafts. Routine maintenance on survival crafts. Changed oil, belts, inspection, first aid kits, replaced expired first aid equipment. Paperwork required by coastguard.
