Adapted to new systems and processes in a fast-paced environment., utilizing publications tools, documentation controls, workflows, and procedures to always meet or exceed customer deliverables.
In February 2018 the manager of Technical Publications talked with me about whether I'd be a good fit. I was told that I had the system knowledge, research ability, and understanding of Universal systems and that they could teach me to write. Joined the department and produced Component Maintenance Manuals, addressing a ten-year deficit for CMMs. Once I had produced CMMs to the best degree that was possible, a fellow writer and I began working diligently for two (2) years and knocked the deficit on CMMs down to nothing. The department was hit like many in the avionics industry after 2020 and the epidemic. When I first joined the department there were nine writers including myself, a working manager, and two document specialists. By 2022 the department was downsized to five (5) employees including the manager and before 2023 there were only three without a manager. The department built back to four (4) employees under an interim manager but was down to a manager and I by 2024. Technical Publications for Universal Avionics ran for two years with two (2) writers and a manager and in May 2026 I was the only Technical Writer in the department. Technical Publications was absorbed by engineering's Configuration Management, and the combined departments are sorely overwhelmed, making cross training and deliverables extremely hard to manage. My dedication to the department and the company has lasted through three (3) implosions since 2022. I maintained the department's standards, processes, and identity to keep the flame burning and pass on to new employees. Unfortunately the flame has gone out but I hope you can see how my integrity, professionalism, and dedication could be utilized as an asset for your company.
