  • Responsibilities
    Acts as Controlled Access Monitor at entrances to NASIC complex.
    Instructs Visitors on security requirements, specifically those relating to
    the necessity of wearing badges and removal of all electronic devices prior
    to entering facility. Provides accurate information in tactful,
    courteous, and articulate manner. Verifies and ensures all badges and keys
    are returned to Maintenance and Plant Engineering Branch receptionist at
    end of shift. Escorts personnel that do not have required security clearances/accesses
    while in NASIC facility, including both collateral areas, Sensitive
    Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) in accordance with applicable
    security procedures. Escorts contractors
    without required security clearance on construction sites.
    Checks area before entering with uncleared personnel to ensure that
    classified material is properly protected. Clearly announces uncleared
    visitor in area upon arrival. Ensures adjoining offices are aware of
    uncleared visitors in area. Surveys facilities, storage areas, or government
    property to ensure USAF resources are properly secured and attended.

    Receives and answers requests for information pertaining to building and
    office locations, locations of personnel, and other related items within
    NASIC buildings. Performs administrative duties such as answering
    telephones and receiving visitors, providing routing information, and
    referring callers to appropriate staff members for specific information.
    Receives and refers visitors. Inputs file information into Visitor
    Control System. Refers technical or non-routine inquiries to appropriate
    staff members. May provide assistance trouble-shooting daily alarms
    throughout NASIC facility and weekly alarm testing which ensures
    malfunctions or abnormalities are immediately reported and rapid technical
    solutions are implemented so problems can be eradicated.
