New Mexico Department of Corrections, Albuquerque, NM — Security Threat Intelligence Unit Manager, Task Force Officer, Investigator, Corrections Officer, and Instructor. August 1988 - December 2013 ● Managed the Security Threat Intelligence Unit and transport team for Region II for over 2 years. ● Oversaw employee decision making and performance evaluations ● Coordinated fugitive apprehension and transport of Probation and Parole Offenders ● I supervised 34 employees with statewide operational responsibility for with a variety of functions as manager I provided services and technical, administrative functions and management theories, principles and techniques to many situations and programs. I conducted training and technical advice on criminal investigations, this also includes the collection of documents and the placement of information into records, to ensure compliance with regulatory guidance. I scheduled work assignments, distribution, and prioritized tasks in order to expedited work load to meet changes in manpower and case load. It was my responsibility to develop and forward criminal cases to Federal or State agencies for prosecution. Responsible for overseeing Fugitive Operations for the Department of Corrections and training the Officers assigned to the Unit in fugitive operations. The day-to-day operations required coordination with State and Federal agencies. Prepared documentation for grant reimbursement of Federal funds awarded to unit. Responsible for receiving and developing classified information for both Criminal and Civil processes. As a Manager, I was required to investigate Offenders, and Staff which required submit Internal Investigations. Conducted inventory control and inspection on all equipment assigned to the unit. Developed damage reports, estimated cost and facilitated repair of items lost or damaged.
