Past Projects

Louisville Gas and Electric (LG&E-KU) Effluent Limitations Guideline Treatment System at Trimble County, Mill Creek and Ghent Coal Fired Power plants, Supervising Electrical Engineer. Responsible for design and engineering of three complete Effluent Limitations Guideline Treatment Facilities using Frontier Water Systems Technology. Responsibilities included electrical supervision of a staff of two engineers and 5 designers. Prepared equipment specifications performed review of short circuit, breaker coordination, and arc flash calculations. Supervised design team in developing single line drawings, arrangement drawings, grounding plans/details, lightning protection, raceway layouts electrical schematics and DCS wiring. Provided construction and startup support.

Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) New Wastewater Treatment Plant at Cumberland Coal Fired Power Plant, Supervising Electrical Engineer. Responsible for design and engineering of a complete wastewater treatment plant. Responsibilities included electrical supervision of a staff of two engineers and 3 designers. Prepared equipment specifications performed review of short circuit, breaker coordination, harmonic and arcflash calculations. Supervised design team in developing single line drawings, arrangement drawings, grounding plans/details, raceway layouts electrical schematics and wiring. Provided construction and startup support for duration of project.

Pfizer, Various locations, Supervising Electrical Engineer. Evaluate the reliability and resiliency of twelve (12) pharmaceutical plants located both domestically and internationally due to past hurricane experiences at two existing plants. Scope of work involved visiting each facility and evaluating the robustness and resiliency of the primary power supply, incoming switchgear, emergency generators, UPS systems and automatic transfer schemes. Performed risk assessment of existing plant configurations and developed report with recommendations to mitigate existing risks. Provided cost estimate and schedule for each mitigation option to allow client to evaluate and develop a path forward for each facility.

U.S. Department of Defense, LIVEWIRE Program, Fort Meade, Maryland. Supervising Electrical Engineer 

Responsible for several electrical upgrade projects at the DOD facility located in Fort Meade, Maryland. Upgrade projects consisted of installing twelve – 750 kVA UPS's and associated switchgear, sixteen 13.8 kV – 480V substations, cooling tower/chiller replacements. Prepared equipment specifications, performed short circuit, breaker coordination and arcflash calculations. Prepared project design manuals in accordance with Government design standards. Supervised design team in developing single lines drawings, arrangement drawings, grounding plans/details and raceway layouts. Provided construction support for above upgrade projects as well as support for all construction projects presently being performed by the Livewire Construction team located in Annapolis Junction, Md. Involved with DOD engineering team evaluating the existing electrical distribution system and recommending necessary equipment upgrades to increase system reliability.

Northern Sector Electrical Infrastructure Reconstruction Project, North Sector. Iraq, Supervising Design Engineer 

Project consists of thirty (30) new 33 kV/11 kV distribution substations north of Baghdad. Prepared equipment specifications for medium voltage switchgear, 33/11 kV power transformers, station batteries and chargers. Performed grounding calculation, lightning protection and battery sizing calculations. Performed vendor drawing review, conducted factory inspection and witness testing. Supervised design team in developing single line drawings, arrangement drawings, grounding plan/details and lighting plans. Provided site support during construction phase of project.
