  • Company Overview: Project Wildside is run by its founder Eoin Cooke out of Dunshauglin Ireland and is a program where volunteers from all across the globe are hired to live in an off grid rural setting and work with farm animals including but not limited to, cattle, sheep, hens, horses, rams, goats, and domestic animals such as cats
  • The responsibilities of this position were to manage a flock of approximately 230 sheep, and 40 cattle spread amongst a 3 mile radius in separate fields
  • This required electrical work to rig automatic water systems, construction skills for basic repairs including fences and metal gateways, animal handling skills that included grooming, feeding, medicating, herding, and basic surgeries (in cases of prolapse and hoof rot.)
  • This job requires early hours and starts at dawn until sunset, usually in driving rains and outdoors
  • Workers expected to be able to light jog for nearly 3-4 hours daily and no downtime was tolerated due to the gravity of the scale of this operation
