Michael Gowler

Trim Tech Designs is a full custom cabinetry shop catering to high end clients with very high standards. As their first full time estimator, i helped lay the ground work for a fully functioning estimating process that meets all of their highly detailed requirements. My main role now is to prepare a detailed material take-off and labor estimate for very large 10,000+ sqft whole homes to down single bathroom vanities.

Kankakee River Metropolitan Agency is a wastewater treatment plant that I have been employed by for over 9 years as my day job. At this job on a daily basis I am required to maintain, diagnose and repair a vide variety of industrial equipment associated with wastewater such as pumps, valves, hvac, plumbing, welding, heavy equipment, gearboxes etc. Along with the maintenance side of the job, i am also required to monitor, record and adjust the operation of the plant.

Gowler Lumber Company is my side business i have been using to grow my skillsets along with my tool inventory. This has given me the experience of working with 100+ clients to build high-end furniture, built-ins, décor, signage, statement pieces etc.. Some of those projects i was allowed total creative freedom and others were done to client specifications. Through those projects i have been able to build out an extensive wood & metal shop along with the knowledge of how to use and maintain the equipment. I also became highly interested in sawing my own lumber so i built a fully functional dehumidification kiln along with acquiring a bandsaw and large chainsaw mill. I have now been able to take several projects from log to finished piece.

During the past eight years i have built out four woodworking/ metal fab shops along with fully renovating two homes. I managed all of those projects, doing most of the work myself and bringing in help where needed. Throughout that process i have gained knowledge of budget management and worked directly with contractors and vendors along with experience in finish carpentry, electrical, plumbing,flooring ect.
