Michael Lual Mayen is a game developer, Founder of Junub Games and The Lual Mayen Foundation. On a personal note, my parents had to flee South Sudan to Northern Uganda to find a place of refuge. While in the camp, I taught myself how to code and later developed my first video game. I am passionate about developing games and products that help improve global communities.

Passionate about equality in education and creating video games to help promote peace and bring global communities together.

  • Lual Mayen Foundation equips refugees (young adults including women) with digital and technical skills to access meaningful career & job opportunities
  • The Lual Mayen Foundation (LMF) aims to provide access to technology, education, and career opportunities to under-resourced communities
  • Partnered and raised over $500,000 grants in partnership with Unity Technologies, Western Digital and Dalio Philanthropies
  • Partnered with CORSAIR and Origin PC to donate high-end PCs and peripherals to support the foundation and help more refugees who need the boost.
  • Organized the LMF first Gala that featured engaging keynotes and panel discussions by expert speakers who shared their insights on the major educational challenges and investing in refugee education. The panel was moderated by Malika Bilal an international broadcast journalist and the panelists included Chris Boian a spokesperson for UNHCR and Dau Doldol a former refugee and a Gates Scholar with a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership & Human Development.

  • 148 learners completed the 3d art and animation program, surpassing our completion target of 125, with 73 job opportunities have been secured for the learners with employment partners.
