For 15 years my area of responsibility entailed managing operations of a network and facilities serving over 700,000 customer across roughly 250 miles of the Florida Panhandle.
My main focus was to manage the installation and maintenance of special circuits that included DSO, DS1, DS3, OC3-OC192 and Terabit Ethernet GigE level circuits including DWDM and CWDM transport instate and interstate transmission.
Managing my team to be the best of the best I was awarded national best in class customer desired due dates and mean time to repair from ATT, Verizon, T-Mobile, Alltel, The State of Florida government and a multitude of E-commerce customers.
I was always focused my budgets and was under budget year in and year out while never undercutting safety and quality.
QC Fiber Spv position included the following:
1. Ride out and site visits to engineer and design the correct fiber paths.
2. Ride out each EMC power company circuits to recommend necessary make ready work which included pole change outs or re-arrange of power company facilities, and existing comm facilities to enable fiber placement following the National Electric Safety Code.
3. Once fiber construction was completed, zi inspected both aerial and underground facilities to insure the project was built to company specs.
Ride outs included documenting contractor redline as builts, then completed the final close out design package to release the feeder for service.
4. During each project, I constantly tracked contractor construction activity to insure required safety guidelines were met.
