Activities

  • 2012, Participated in the 2012 Act Fast Stroke Challenge/Fundraiser and led a team of participants to educate the local community about signs and symptoms of stroke including a health check venue set up in our local hospital as well as the mall; Endeavor also included a radio and local newspaper interview.
  • 2012, Co-created FAST Alert competency for CVPH staff that respond to FAST alerts throughout the organization.
  • 2014, Participated with NYSPFP Prevention of Readmission Initiative to apply strategies over a 7 month period aimed at reducing hospital patient readmission; Delivered a Power Point presentation to CVPH Leadership on the initiative and our successful efforts.
  • 2016, Participated in the restructure of our networks Patient Placement Services department. Selected participants were broken into sub groups based on their knowledge and contributions to help optimize throughput and support successful restructure.
  • 2018, Participated in the UVHN-CVPH Nursing Strategic Planning where we discussed the future direction of nursing/healthcare. Reviewed goals, accomplishments, challenges achieved during 2015-2018. and discussed future direction for 2018-2021.
  • 2020-2022 Was lead RN CM for discharge of COVID patients. Efforts included establishing safe practices with UNVHN-CVPH Infection and Prevention team, communication with local DOH, and communication/coordination of care with local ALF/NH facilities, and other community agencies. Was required to stay current in rapidly changing climate and communicate needs/concerns/challenges. Presented above content at CM department meetings.
