Acutes
Set up and program machine per doctor order
Clean dialysis site per protocol
Cannulate patient and connect to machine
Take vitals q15/30 minutes
Document vital and any adverse affects and report to RN
Practice excellent infection control
Brake down and clean machine per protocol
Other duties as directed
In Clinic
monitor patients undergoing treatment, set up and disinfect machine before and after treatment, prepare heparin and lidocaine, as well as labs, take vital signs, clean access, cannulate patient and connect to machine, calculate fluid removal, monitor and order supplies as needed, proficient in unit procedure of opening and closing, infection control, comply with all policies and procedures and remain in communication with nurse at all times
In Acutes
Rounds with Tele Nephrologist, coordinate treatments within hospital staff as well as handoff between hospital nurse and tele nurse, order supplies and maintain stock, connect patient and monitor during treatment, communicate with nurses and doctors during and after treatment, report any adverse conditions to doctor and nurse
