• Duties include processing, embedding, sectioning (microtomy), H&E staining of tissue. Performed special staining with Benchmark stainers. Also when needed, performed specials stains with made up from scratch recipes. Assist Pathologist and residents in frozen sectioning. Help in training of residence in frozen room. Changing of chemicals in processors and stainers. Rotations include assisting with recuts with H&E diagnostics, Education, Research and Customer Service needs. As well as Consult cases and Molecular cases. Turning out of slides with use of Vantage and Citrix.

• Worked alone assisting 1 pathologist and 12 Endocrinologist. Collection, accession, labeling of blocks and slides, grossing of tissue, processing, embedding, sectioning of tissue, H&E staining and coverslip-ping of slides. Perform Special staining by use of kits and home made recipes. Changing of all chemicals daily. All ordering of supplies of lab. Maintained all procedure manuals and assisted CLIA inspectors upon visits. Filing of all blocks and slides. Had some help when needed with accessioning and labeling of blocks and slides and filing.

• Daily duties include receiving/retrieval of tissue, accession, labeling of blocks and slides, process, embedding of tissue , section, stain and coverslip H&E slides. Perform special stains by hands with Kits and home made recipes. Perform IHC stains by stainer system. Assist with frozen sectioning. Pulled call. Assist with all lab ordering. Performed trouble shooting . Assist Oncologist with bone marrow collection. Assist with routine discarding of tissue.
