Early Intervention Specialist
I started subbing as an aide for Mahoning County ESC, now ESC of Eastern Ohio while I was completing my early childhood degree. In September of 2001 I started teaching full time as an early childhood special education teacher . Wrote lesson plans, IEP’s and collaborated with families, aides therapist and administrators to create age appropriate activities for students in my classroom. I completed my master’s in Early Childhood Special Education in 2003
In 2006 the ESC asked me to become an itinerant intervention specialist. I worked with a various students families and teachers in a variety of settings, homes, libraries, childcare centers and schools. I helped students meet iep objections and goals. I created specific activities for classroom teachers to use with all their students meeting content standards as well as Iep objectives. During the 2018-2019 school year I was asked to move back into the classroom for a teacher that had to take emergency medical leave There I worked with families aides and therapists in an inclusive self- contained setting again. My final year we navigated teaching and gathering student data via zoom, email and texting families therapist daily
