- Provide steroid injections, such as Cortisone and Kenalog, to different joints, such as the knee, shoulder, and hips, along with aspirations of the knee under the supervision of a physician (Dr. Tom Winters). I also perform trigger point injections.
- Explain to patients the injection procedure and aftercare procedures.
- Take in patients, measure vital signs, and record information on patient charts.
- Help to remove stitches after surgery.
- Fill out History and Physical Forms with patients who are going to get surgery.
- Help to close during surgeries with the supervising physician, such as putting in sutures and wrapping.
- Help to make and form splints for patients with hand and arm injuries.
- On Fridays, my supervising physician, other staff, and I go to Lake Butler Jail (RMC) and provide clinical and surgical care to jail patients. At the jail, I perform the same tasks listed above.
