Mihret Werlwas

I began volunteering for Gallopnyc starting in April of last year. My volunteer work has included; assisting in children's riding lessons (lead walking, side walking, setting up the arena), and barn work (sweeping the barn, tacking, feeding the horses, mucking, grooming etc.) It is a volunteer job so hours depend on when I sign up,and I am still volunteering to this day.

• Participated in activities and discussions with campers.
• Deescalated conflicts among campers and sought assistance from seniors for permanent resolutions.
• Devised and enacted team-building exercises.
• Supported Lead Counselor in day plan creation and surprise activities planning.
• Supported both the campers and Counselors during overnight camping trips.
• Did community service such as; running waste stations after meals, set the dining hall with plates, cups and cutlery before meals, and assisted kitchen staff with dishes.
