Clinical:

• Performing all diagnostic test including orb scan, topography, keratometry, pupillometry, aberrometry, wavelight/topolyzer, OCT, and more
• Assist in scheduling pre ops, post ops, surgery and co-managing appointments
• Determining candidacy based on scans, lifestyle, corneal tissue, randleman risk score, etc. to recommend the safest procedure for the patient
• Recognizing corneal abnormalities through scans including Keratoconus and educating the patient at length on presbyopia, corneal ectasia, risk, longevity, dryness, procedures, healing process, etc
• Accurately acquiring data on the patient at pre op appointments to further build treatment profile without error by following a strict routine

Built and established standard operating procedures to integrate LAL cataracts into the refractive department. within a short time after acquiring this procedure into our team, we have exceeded FDA trial results and provided exceptional patient care.

• Performing Manual Refractions, Autorefracting, Pentacam, and OCT diagnostic testing
• Working up LAL cataract patients with a high standard of care
• Certified to program the LDD light and assist the refractive optometrist with patient treatments
• Scheduling and triaging patients that require additional treatment

• Extensive knowledge with a slit lamp and proficient at determining open, narrow, and closed angles. Performed before administering dilation drops for Ophthalmologist
• Extensive knowledge of ocular physiology and ocular diseases
• Perform Goldmann and Tonopen applanation, non contact tonometer as well as the tactile method on kids to determine intraocular pressure
• Performing manual and cycloplegic refractions through phoropter

• Assist Ophthalmologist in a thorough pre and post operative care routine for administration of Intravitreal injection performed by M.D.
• Perform OCT and Visual Field diagnostic testing as well as brief interpretation
• Recognize field of vision loss, central vision loss, key symptoms of worsening degeneration etc
• Performing thorough workups including checking pupils for APD's, irregularities/defects, and light perception.
• Working with low vision patients and adapting during workups to acquire needed information
• Macular injection workups and testing

• Cataract consultations and diagnostic testing for cataract surgery
• Post operative workups after cataract surgery including patient education through the healing process
• Performing Goldmann applanation and testing visual acuity

• The ability to troubleshoot while refining a patient's prescription in contact lenses with spherical, toric, multifocal, and monovision to ensure they meet the patient's visual demands
• Convert and transpose prescriptions between glasses and contacts
• Assisting high prescription and Keratoconus patients with scleral & RGP specialty contact lenses
• Understanding of optics to troubleshoot different contact lenses with a patient
• Dispensing contact lenses

• Extensive practice in finding ocular misalignments with the cover-uncover test, hirschberg, and the fix and follow method
• Primary focus on testing depth perception/Stereopsis, color vision, ocular motility, and visual acuity through different methods to keep the child engaged, ensuring visual pathway development, and ruling out strabismus/amblyopia. Lastly, to administer the dilating eye drops. Newborns - 18 years of age
• Troubleshooting with non verbal and difficult examinations

• The ability to adapt to different doctors verbiage and routine, while accurately translating information into the patient's chart
• Selecting the correct ICD-10 coding based on doctors findings and discussions
• Assist physician during various different examinations. Including utilizing a flag system to effectively stay on schedule

• Experience performing Lipiflow and BlephEx treatments
• Measuring dry eye through osmolarity, inflamadry, schirmer's test, Lipiscans and dye strips (lissamine green, fluorescein, rose bengal)
• Gathering and submitting information for autologous blood serum eye drops
