providing readers an inside look at college, professional, local/high school athletes and teams. Started as a freelancer at the Lafayette Journal & Courier and was promoted to full-time covering Purdue/Big Ten/NCAA/high school stories, features, enterprise and issues. In December 2022, I accepted a buyout from Lafayette Journal and Courier (Gannett).
• Responsible for reporting and writing about the Purdue men’s basketball program during the 2022-23 season. Hired as a freelancer while the beat writer was on medical leave.
• Responsible for reporting and writing about all aspects of high school sports coverage, Purdue's football program, Purdue men's basketball program (starting in 2019-20 season) and Purdue's women’s basketball program, including generating enterprise, digital contributions, game and feature stories on local and national levels.
• Provided assistance in coverage of high school sports with game stories, sidebars, features, and special projects.
• Worked cooperatively with numerous coaches, sports information directors, university, high school and local officials.
• First reporter to write about Tyler Trent, a Purdue student and super fan who gained national attention during his battle against bone cancer and his passion for the school's athletic teams.
• Overseeing social media accounts and producing content for the Krannert School of Management website.
• Responsible for reporting and writing about all aspects of Purdue's football program and nationally ranked Purdue women’s basketball program, including generating enterprise, digital contributions, game and feature stories on local and national levels.
• Planned and implemented coverage of numerous NCAA basketball tournaments.
• Reported on and followed a Purdue University internal inquiry focusing on the women’s basketball program during the 2005-06 season, securing exclusive interviews with a number of participants.
• Played an active role in expanding coverage of Purdue’s non-revenue sports.
Served as lead reporter for various NCAA championship events in West Lafayette, including the 2008 Division I Men’s Golf Championships.
