Job responsibilities- I review insurance inquiries for physicians to determine whether the claim is processed and paid correctly. I work on the host side, which is the side that works directly with the provider. I transfer information to the home side, who houses the benefits to clarify if all benefits were applied when considering payment on the claim. I contact the provider when necessary to clarify what’s needed when an image is received with no clarification. I adjust claims that are invalid, which sometimes requires adding allowance. I must review medical procedure codes to make sure a letter isn’t required to be sent to the provider for correction of claim.
