I have always been interested in the area of Social Work but became interested in Nursing after having a child with Spina Bifida. I learned numerous skills simply from being a mother such as catheterizing, performing enemas, wound care, etc. I believe my background in Social Work, along with my personal experiences has given me a unique perspective that many don't have. I've had the experience of being in hospitals as the mother of a patient MANY times, and it has given me the opportunity to recognize the importance of communication and teaching with patients and their families. I am excited to enter the realm of Nursing, and believe I have much to offer.

I am part of the Intermountain Spina Bifida planning committee, where I help in planning activities for people with Spina Bifida and/or people that use wheelchairs. Some day I hope to plan a flash mob for people with Spina Bifida and/or wheelchairs.
