I have been working in retail for roughly 25 years, I don't know all there is to know, but, I do know the basic law of retail, customer satisfaction is most important. Everything we do in retail has to build around what will keep the customers coming back to shop with us. Besides great prices, well stocked isles, and clean stores, the single most important detail is simply, friendly, outgoing, upbeat sales associates that care about the people who shop our stores. These customers don't have to shop with us, there are other options out there. They choose to come to our store. If we dont take care of our customers someone else will be happy to do it for us. It's up to the Store Manager to build a team that understands this fundamental law. But most importantly one must be willing and able to lead by example.
