I have 2 and a half years of experience working in Crossdock, Inbound, Linear, as a Jam Breaker, and at the Mechlite as an Associate.
During my time at Crossdock, I have worked on staging carts into their correct position. I also have experience with loading carts, pallets, and shuttles into the trailers. I have been working the Crossdock area occasionally depending on where I am needed.
At Inbound, I started getting my experience there two months into the job. I have done it all there. From side loading the packages into the conveyor belt, sideloading into the Mechlite, have done fluid loading both small and non-con packages from trailers, and I also have experience using the dumper to dump shuttles and carts with small packages and jiffy bags into the conveyor belt.
In my time at the Linear and Mechlite, I have scanned packages and jiffy bags onto carts, pallets, and shuttles. I have also helped in opening the carts for scanning when they have not been opened for scanning yet. I also help on live loading the carts, pallets and shuttles. Whether it's by taking the carts, pallets, and shuttles into the staging area at Crossdock. Or, by loading them into the trailers.
I also had the opportunity to work in the Jam Breaker area. I was able to help keep the flow of packages run on the conveyor belt, stopped it on occasions where I had to remove hazardous materials, broken boxes, or pieces of cardboard that made it onto the conveyor belt, and I was also able to report any issues that I saw to my superiors.
