  • Negotiate, draft, and review settlement proposals, Rule 11 Agreements, Informal Settlement Agreements, Mediated Settlement Agreements, Final Decrees of Divorce, Agreements Incident to Divorce, Requests for Disclosure, Requests for Production, Interrogatories, Request for Admissions and Denials, and Temporary Orders.
  • Negotiate, draft, and review detailed access and possession schedules for minor children of the marriage.
  • Attend mediation, arbitration, settlement conferences, informal settlement conferences, yearly continuing legal education courses, and weekly progress / docket meetings.
  • Handle day-to-day interaction with individual clients, financial experts, mental health professionals, opposing counsels, and collateral witnesses.
  • Lead counsel on final bench trials and temporary orders hearings in front of District Judges in Dallas, Tarrant, Collin, Denton, Erath, and Ellis County.
  • Conducted legal research and drafted briefs based upon research and findings.
  • Prepared speeches and presentations for various audiences.

  • Represented the Office of the Attorney General in District Court to establish, modify, and enforce child support court orders.
  • Approximately fifty percent (50 %) of time was spent in the Dallas County Courts negotiating, settling, or trying contested hearings to the IV-D judges.
  • Assigned an alphabetical caseload of approximately three thousand (3,000) cases.
  • Primarily responsible for all Spanish speaking clients during court docket days. Spanish speaking clients represented approximately thirty percent (30%) of the child support cases.
  • Translated several cases from English to Spanish for the IV-D judges in Dallas County, Texas, at the request of the judge.
