- Set up, operate, and monitor artificial kidney machine and related equipment to provide dialysis treatment for patients in accordance with the standard procedures and techniques.
- Prepare patients for dialysis treatment to include obtaining and recording vital signs, drawing blood samples and attaching equipment leads to shunts for signs of leakage and change dressings as needed.
- Monitor patient condition during dialysis to include taking blood pressure readings and performing hematocrit and clotting time tests on blood samples, administer oxygen and assist with giving blood transfusions as required.
- Disconnect and clean kidney machine; obtain and record patient’s pre and post dialysis vital signs and use of computer base system.
