When I first started maintenance I don’t know a lot but as I got to move around to different sites I started learning more and more everyday , the residence would tell my supervisors how good of an job I did, how good my communication was I would always get recognition doing whatever it was I doing
I start at this site doing grounds in the morning first hour of the day. I would go get trash out of every breezeway, I would do make readies such as painting removing trash repairing holes, repairing countertops, replacing toilets, hooking up cameras and etc.
At this site, I would do grounds, work orders, make readies etc. I would do make readies alone most of the time. I learned how to do a bit of welding. I would clean and vacuum out apartments, trash outs , blow out breeze ways and etc.
At this site, I would do grounds in the morning first hr of the day, then I would start doing turns/make readies, where I learned more about appliances, electrical wiring, painting and etc.
This job was my groundskeeping / porter position. I didn’t know anything about maintenance at the time, so all day I would pick up trash from the ground, blow out hallways from leaves, spider webs and remove trash from residence doors taking them to the trash. I started meeting some of the maintenance staff and they started showing me things with appliances.
