I was a part of a pilot trial with TTUHSC in Abilene, and with Hendrick Medical Center main campus. Nine students were asked to work as a Nurse Technician under the supervision of another Registered Nurse. We attained clinical hours necessary for graduation, and also got a salary from Hendrick given we were also employed by the facility. The trial went well and Texas Tech will be continuing to implement this strategy for years to come.
