I am Mya Amore Hernandez, a driven and resilient young woman who has turned personal challenges into motivation for success. Raised by my single mother, a combat veteran, I’ve faced obstacles that many might find overwhelming. From being in a domestic violence household to overcoming bullying and discrimination due to my dyslexia and speech difficulties, these experiences have shaped who I am today.
Despite the hardships, I graduated early from high school and am now pursuing a degree in Aeronautics at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. My dream is to become both an Airline Attorney and join the Air Force Academy. These goals are fueled by my passion for advocacy, especially for children and individuals with disabilities who have faced similar discrimination.
I’ve had the privilege of serving as MD2 Texas State Leo President, where I’ve led fundraising efforts for causes like childhood cancer and diabetes awareness and organized events to support underprivileged families. My life has been defined by the three D’s—Domestic Violence, Disability, and Determination but I refuse to let my past hold me back. Instead, I use it as a source of strength and as a foundation to help others who may be struggling.
I am not just a survivor; I am determined to create a future where I can give back to those in need and make a lasting difference.
