• Independently process and review legal documents, including criminal histories, jail behavior reports, counselor
assessments, intake and PREA screenings, to ensure accuracy and compliance with court orders. Verify documents
submitted by the Travis County District Clerk's Office, District Attorney's Office, Community Supervision, and
Corrections Department.
• Prepare and process legal documents for inmate transfers, including TDCJ-ID, State Jail, SAFPF, and IS sentenced
inmates. Ensure all criteria are met, TDC Pen Packets are completed, and transfer documentation is accurate.
• Compile and maintain records for Paper Ready and Jail Standard statistics, ensuring accurate tracking of inmate
movement and release schedules.
• Analyze records and make determinations based on research from multiple law enforcement databases, ensuring
cases are ready for transfer to the custody of the State of Texas or other correctional facilities.
• Monitor paperwork for inmates sentenced to TDC| who are being held out of state or in federal custody, ensuring
completion of sentencing and proper documentation management.
• Process legal documents submitted by the Parole Board, determining hold/release status, tracking compliance with
state law and internal policies, and ensuring correct documentation for parole violators in custody.
• Prepare legal complaints for Fugitive from Justice cases, draft probable cause affidavits for arrest warrants, and
manage compliance with future magistrate laws, issuance of Governor's Warrants, and timely transfer or release of
offenders.
• Set up and process releases for large groups and individuals, verifying inmate identification and court-related
paperwork prior to release to TDCJ, Mental Health facilities, and other law enforcement agencies. Arrange
transportation through the Mental Health Unit as needed.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with law enforcement officers, judges, attorneys,
representatives of outside agencies, other county employees, and the general public.
• Conduct training for newly assigned staff on department policies, inmate processing procedures, and records
management best practices.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned to support the operations and mission of TCSO.
