Throughout my time as a athlete student, I've learned that it is not only important to be apart of your community but also give back to it. Through volunteering, one is not only exposing themselves to more people but as well as experiences. When meeting new people in your community you're also being introduce to new ideas of thinking and ways that people have been raised, learning what they've been through by the way they carry themselves. Learning different personalities is one of the best things that come out of volunteering-in my opinion. Developing strong collaboration and communication skills by interacting with others, as well learning how to handle different situations to the best of ability. Offering a positive and inviting attitude strengthens ones social skills as well, being a positive person creates a foundation within the community that is built on kindness and respect, which vital in any setting.
With Mrs. Valdez's two children, I would typically play games with them-both children are the age of ten. These past two summers with them consisted of going to the pool to swim rather often and providing them meals. Many of our days were spent at home with an occasional visit to the library.
As previously noted, I am still a high student, but before that I am a daughter to immigrant parents. So, I've always set the standard high for myself; wanting to reach places that they weren't able to through my academia. Because of my grades, I've been awarded A Honor Roll all throughout Elementary up until this past year-my junior year. As well as an award for being an overachieving student, a positive role model, and most recently AP Scholar. Within the forensic program at my school, I was acknowledged as one of the top students. Another accomplishment of mine is being invited into not only the National Honors Society (NHS) but as well as the Spanish Honors Society (SNHS). On top of that, I was team captain for the varsity cross country my sophomore year, and ran varsity my freshman and sophomore year; helping lead the team to Regionals both years, and placing top 20 every race as an individual runner and top 10 as a team . I was also varsity for my soccer team my sophomore year. I am also certified to use the Adobe software if I ever wish to pursue a career within an industry in which that would be a requirement.
Like previously stated, I have my certification to professional use any Adobe Software. As well as CPR certified.
