I joined the Hazelwood Police Department in December 2022, embarking on my law enforcement career. From January to June 2023, I attended the St. Louis County and Municipal Police Academy, where I had the privilege of serving as squad leader for my recruit class, fostering teamwork and supporting my peers throughout our training.
At graduation, I received the Top Defensive Tactics Award and was honored to deliver the honorary speech, reinforcing my commitment to community service.
In my nearly three years of patrol with the city of Hazelwood, I have responded to various critical incidents, including shootings, suicides, sexual assaults, child abuse cases, domestic assaults, homicides, vehicle crashes, and even a tornado. These experiences have profoundly shaped my skills and resilience, making me a more effective police officer and leader.
I have been recognized with a Life Saving Award for my efforts in a critical situation and have participated in a multi-county task force focused on addressing violent crime, collaborating with dedicated professionals across the region. Additionally, I was honored to receive the MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) Hero Award in both 2024 and 2025, acknowledging my efforts in making numerous DWI arrests to enhance public safety.

I am currently working day (A) shift at Central Precinct. I have been with the Bureau for 8 years. I am a District Officer by choice working the West side core area. I chose to work this area because I not only know it well, but I know the citizens and businesses that occupy it. Most of them know me by name, have my card and know that they can rely on me to do follow up for them. I actively work many of their cases for positive outcomes. Follow through is important to gain trust and respect with the community. I have worked and been invited to multiple special events without my district involving churches, hotels and local coffee shops. I have spoken at places to employees about theft and how to look for criminal activity signs. I have done security walk throughs on buildings that were newer to Portland and made sure they were aware of the “hot spot” areas of common criminal activity and how to properly report it. I take pride in my district and how I work it daily.

I am currently a Peer Mentor Officer that is assigned a student with the Sunshine Division. This program was developed to assist with the Z MAN Program to have an Officer develop a mentorship with a high school student to help answer questions about law enforcement and guidance through possible educational opportunities for their future. I do frequent events with the Division as well as for the Bureau when needed.
