To me, Carnatic music is what has shaped my identity and core value system. From my daily life revolving around music, my life today sees everything from the veiwpoint of the deep rooted music insilled by my gurus. My musical journey has not only shaped me as a person but has also set me with the skills to shape my academic journey and life.
I started my musical journey at the age of five under my guru Smt Tara Bangalore, whom I have been learning for the past 12 years. I have also had the fortune of learning under Vid Akshay Padmanabhan for the past 4 years. In addition, I receive Laya(Rhythm) training from Vid Kulur Jayachandra Jao and have had the fortune of learning select krithis from Vid Vijay Siva and Vid RK Shriramkumar.
I have won prizes in the manodharma(advanced improv) catagories at the prestegious Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana and popular Indian Newspaper, TheHindu magazine competitions to mention a few. I have performed in the New England and Chennai, India. A few venues include Sri Lakshmi Temple, Ashland, MA ; MIT, Boston ; Maha Periyava Mani Mantapam, Flemington, NJ ; Clevland Thyagaraja Aradhana ; Hamsadwani, Music Acadamy Chennai.
