ROAD TRAFFIC SIGN PREDICTION USING DEEP LEARNING

  • This project involves the development of a deep learning model that utilizes transfer learning techniques to recognize traffic signs. The model is trained using both PyTorch and TensorFlow models, and it leverages the powerful capabilities of the ResNet architecture.
  • Strategically collected dataset from different sources, divided the dataset into two parts: 60% for training the model and 40% for testing. To enhance the diversity and robustness of the training set, we applied data augmentation techniques.
  • Achieved an impressive accuracy rate of approximately 97% in initial tests. Thoroughly analyzed failing cases to gain insights and enhance the model’s performance.
  • In the project’s second phase, we successfully adapted the model to interpret video sources. By doing so, we were able to predict traffic signs from video footage, achieving an impressive accuracy of approximately 80%.
  • The Selected was presented at the university’s esteemed ‘C Day’, where it was successfully demonstrated and enthusiastically received by both peers and faculty members.
