  • 08/2009, 07/2011, Indiana University SOM - Clinical Pharmacology, Indianapolis, IN, Research Associate, Maintain and culture specific lymphoblast cell lines for liver enzyme genotype and gene copy number profiling and analysis. Perform genotyping and copy number assays for various population pools for the assessment and analysis of specific single nucleotide polymorphisms and variations in copy number of the Cyp2D6 liver enzyme. Analysis is used to determine persons specific variation in activity of Cyp2D6 enzyme in the metabolism and activation of drugs Tamoxifen, Letrozole and Exemestane. Carried out PCR and gel electrophoresis of DNA of specific population pools to assess and determine fusion gene constructs of the Cyp2D6 liver enzyme and possible effects on activity. Determine specific locations of fusion constructs of Cyp2D6 using specific primers to help determine various fusion constructs between the Cyp2D6 and Cyp2D7 liver enzymes. Perform microarray analysis on human liver, cardiac and muscle extracts treated with specific compounds to determine variations in expression.
