Caring professional prepared to deliver case management and client advocacy. Dedicated to helping others achieve progress toward goals and meet specific needs. Hardworking, driven and working to expand my knowledge base daily. Client comfort, autonomous decision making and effortful beneficence are personal priorities as a student attending Nursing School. As I continue in my Journey, I plan to take on jobs to only increase personal experience (for instance, caretaker CNA, at-home nursing, shadowing student, and apply to internships).
Regarding this volunteer opportunity (and others for the underlying cause), as "Vocalis" choir students, we are coming together to fundraise for a Europe trip in summer 2025. We will be singing all around either France or Ireland (to be determined), a group of pieces by a renowned Irish composer we commissioned. This will be the World premiere (debut) of this collection, and I am honored to be partaking in such an experience. However, we need to raise a lot of funds, and this is why I work with my peers as a volunteer. In this instance, I worked to set up a garage sale at our school's breezeway, where other students are free to look at and purchase items that our Women's choir donated for the cause. I was in control of money counting and setup, and volunteered when I was not in classes. We also brought in money through selling Donut Cards and Pizza Cards (50% off all pizza at Papa John's for a year!)
In working to find a desired career (as a Senior in High School), I shadowed my mother (an Anesthesiologist) and her team of AA's, surgeons, RN's and CNAs during a surgical procedure. This experience opened my eyes to what I would be exposed to as a Nurse (Desired career at the time, and now), and how I administer medication before, during and after surgery, to the patient.
From August 8th to August 12th 2022, I worked with staff to assist fellow high school students in obtaining their 2022-2023 schedules and textbooks. I labeled textbooks, added newly opened/delivered books to the system (computerized), and became a tour guide for incoming freshmen at the annual Cooper City Corral. I accumulated over 20 hours of service through this act of volunteering.
Through this volunteering experience, I was able to work alongside middle school children, at the Community Center Summer Camp. I assisted with morning snack and lunch distribution, post pick-up cleaning (vacuuming, taking out and picking up trash I find, cleaning windows and of course, forming connections with the children). This provided me with experience in caretaking, and could prove useful to me in future Nursing Endeavors (ensuring those in your care are comfortable and happy). Through this week-long service, I accumulated 40 service hours.
