EDNY Brooklyn Justice Institute (July 2024)

I was selected with a teacher recommendations and academics to attend a federal court in Brooklyn for a week-long program that explores the various facets of the judicial system of criminal law, concluding with a mock trial. Special guests included Secret Service members, FBI agents, courtroom reporters, courtroom sketch artists, and bailiffs. I collaborated with Seton Hall law students who mentored and prepared me for a mock trial that took place in a federal courthouse, which I ultimately won, after giving an opening statement and cross examining witnesses. The program was overseen and facilitated by federal judges.
