Nathan Gilbert

An independent producer, filmmaker, and consultant from Boston, MA, who started his film career in Chicago, IL. I entered the independent film space by working on a variety of short film and web series content before branching out into feature film projects. My first short project, DEAR FRANKIE, premiered as part of the Straight 8 Competition at the Cannes Film Festival, and has been an investor is several short projects. Recently, in addition to helping develop a number of feature screenplays, including THE ORCHESTRA as part of the Chicago Industry Exchange Lab, I was an Associate Producer on the independent documentary THE LAST BLOCKBUSTER, available on Netflix, as well as producing the quarantine short SINK, which premiered at the Academy-qualifying Chicago International Film Festival.

Beginning in June of 2018, I became an independent Film producer, self-teaching myself the film industry and traveling the country, attending major film festivals that also screened projects of my own.

Beginning in 2023, I merged my freelance project developments with that of a filmmaking partner in chicago to create the Causeway Fairfield Company. There, we acquire Intellectual Property for project development, and offer consulting services.

I have also worked with companies such as Glasshouse Distribution based in Los Angeles helping identify films for their distribution output, and been a screener for film festivals and programming teams.
