I am passionate for serving God and his church through preaching the Gospel and teaching the Word of God. I earned an undergrad degree from Ouachita Baptist University in Biblical Studies, and have taken steps towards acquiring a masters of divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. I have been married to my wonderful wife, Maddie, since September of 2020.
I have spent ten months as a pastoral apprentice at First Baptist Hot Springs where I have gained experience in pastoral care and the organization of church programs under the guidance of John McCallum and the rest of the pastoral staff. God has given me the opportunity to serve through short-term mission trips in California, Chicago, and Honduras as well as volunteering as a staffer for four summers of Super Summer Arkansas. I have experience with multiple people groups and ages ranging from children to senior adults. Through my internship with Sky Ranch I learned the importance of understanding team dynamics and how morale can have a huge impact on team effectiveness. My wife and I seek a community that we can help grow in their relationship to God and that will likewise invest in us for mutual spiritual growth. As a disciple of Christ, I especially have a heart for teaching others what God has told us through his Word as well as the importance of missions and outreach as the duty of the church. Above all else, I seek to serve for the Glory of Christ.
I have been blessed to serve as a supply preacher at First Brownsville in order to aid their pastor with the work load of caring for a small congregation. I am typically called upon to preach at least two Sunday services a month, though I make myself available anytime I may be needed. The church currently does not have Sunday school or Wednesday night meetings, so I primarily get interact and fellowship with the congregation before and after Sunday morning service.
I was blessed to serve as interim pastor for Old Union during the months following their lead pastors retirement while they sought God's guidance to call a new pastor. I served the congregation by preaching on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights and offering any assistance I could in their search.
While working as a pastoral apprentice for John McCallum at First Baptist Hot Springs, I was given opportunities to preach sermons and lead Bible studies on Wednesday nights and in Sunday school. One of Pastor John's goals of the program was to give young aspiring pastors the chance to experience the routines and duties of the pastorate which included attending funerals, making visits to church members who were homebound or in rehab centers, and sermon preparation. I also gained experience serving in many different areas of ministry including children's, safety team, and outreach for a local church plant. Additionally, I was given the opportunity to go on a week-long mission trip to Honduras where we aided a local missionary and pastors by building a roof for a family's home and hosting a women's conference. Throughout the apprenticeship, I have been able to meet pastors from around the state of Arkansas and learn about their experiences and ministry styles and how to adapt in order to best serve the congregation God has placed you in.
I am currently working for Eric as an insurance account representative. I am licensed in property and casualty as well as life and heath insurance. My role involves helping current customers with billing or coverage questions and helping new customers with the application process in order to build policies that best suit their needs.
At O'reilly Auto Parts, I was responsible for aiding professional automotive shops in getting the parts needed for their customers as well as keeping their shop supplies in stock. I supervised multiple delivery drivers whose routes I planned in order to most efficiently take care of customers. Additionally, I was in charge of store inventory check-in and maintenance and handled customer warranty claims when products malfunctioned.
As an activities team member, I had a wide array of responsibilities. Primarily, I was tasked with operating and maintaining the outdoor activities in camp such as ropes course, zipline, water slides, and alpine swing. The activities team insured that all campers were safely participating in the activities while the counselors taught and mentored the campers. Additional responsibilities included serving and cleaning up after meals and cleaning the cabins and lodges between camp groups and helping to build the new tubing hill. Working for Sky Ranch taught me the importance of teamwork and understanding team dynamics, as well as the flexibility needed in order to ensure participants have an enjoyable time and counselors are able to focus on discipleship.
