- Ensures proper use and fit of safety equipment and clothing
- Services, troubleshoots, and maintains aircraft structure and engine systems, components, electrical, mechanical and related equipment
- Ensures maintenance is documented in Autonomic Logistics Information System (ALIS)
- Performs Aircraft Inspections including Before Operation Servicing (BOS) , Inter Operation Servicing (IOS), and Post Operation Servicing (POS) Inspections as well as other unscheduled inspections through F-35 inspection requirements
- Serves as Crew Chief and technical authority, having custody of assigned aircraft, responsible for performing, coordinating and overseeing maintenance and periodic inspections to assigned aircraft
- Responsible for airworthiness of assigned aircraft through scheduled hourly inspections, checks, adjustments, disassembly, removal, repair, modification, installation, operation, troubleshooting and diagnosing F-35 aircraft systems, components and accessories
- Knowledgeable of equipment assembly, installation, repair of mechanical, electrical and pneudraulic, functional and operational tests of various major and minor systems to assigned F-35 Aircraft
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, TCTD’s, blueprints, schematics, service bulletins, instructions and specifications
- Great understanding using PMA/MVI to control mission systems, general aircraft doors, flight control surfaces, weapons bay doors and aircraft configuration
- Performs mechanical installation, maintenance and repair/reassemble aircraft components and check for operational deficiencies
- Ensure compliance with applicable tech data through use of ALIS/JTD for appropriate variant and software load
- Ability to use and maintain all tools of the trade, measuring instruments, test equipment, test stands and cockpit instruments
- Trains/guides lower graded civilian/military employees using proper Technical Data and safety procedures
- Ability to operate motor vehicle, tow vehicle and heavy support equipment vehicle
- Ability to adapt to shift changes and recall to duty
