I am writing to express my interest in the Park Ranger 2 position. My leadership roles—ranging from Deputy Fire Chief to Committee Chair of a local Cub Scout pack—reflect my dedication to service, mentorship, and operational coordination. These roles have honed my problem-solving skills, strengthened my ability to lead teams, and deepened my understanding of community needs, all of which are essential for a successful Park Ranger.
I am enthusiastic about the opportunity to apply my diverse background in emergency services, public safety, and community leadership to serve and protect New York’s parks and natural resources.

N2FIX – Licensed General Class Amateur Radio Operator
Formerly KD2TTN | Member of the Genesee Radio Amateurs
I am an active and highly experienced amateur radio operator, deeply involved in the technical and community aspects of the HAM radio hobby. As a licensed General Class operator with the current call sign N2FIX (previously KD2TTN), I have devoted countless hours to building, maintaining, and optimizing both my personal station and broader communications support systems.
My home station features a 60-foot Rohn G25 tower, which I personally constructed and installed. Mounted atop is a 44-foot rotatable 3-element Hy-Gain HF beam antenna, providing coverage from 10 meters to 40 meters. Additionally, I operate a 286-foot all-band dipole for frequencies spanning 160 meters to 10 meters, along with a VHF/UHF vertical antenna extending 10 feet above the main tower structure. All grounding, lightning protection, and RF safety measures were designed and implemented by me.
I am well-versed in the operation and programming of a wide array of amateur and commercial radio equipment, including systems from Icom, Yaesu, Harris, Motorola, and BridgeCom. I regularly use a variety of programming software to configure and manage digital and analog transceivers for different communication needs.
Amateur radio is more than a hobby for me—it's a passion rooted in experimentation, community service, and technological innovation. I take pride in being a creator and contributor to wireless communications, not just a consumer. As part of my commitment to public service, I actively participate in emergency communication efforts and contribute to volunteer community support, helping to ensure critical connectivity when conventional systems fail.
